Cindy Crawford was born Cynthia Ann Crawford on February 20th, 1966 in DeKalb, Illinois. Her parents, John Crawford and Jennifer Sue Crawford-Moluf, were supportive of her chosen career right from the very beginning.
Prior to modeling, Cindy was busy with regular things teens are usually busy with. She finished her secondary at DeKalb High School as a valedictorian. She attended Northwestern University in college, taking up chemical engineering, but was forced to leave after just one quarter due to the modeling opportunities that unfolded right before her beautiful eyes.
Cindy was discovered by a newspaper photographer while she was into her summer job at 16. In no time, she was entered into the Look of the Year contest and ended up as a runner-up. After that, Elite Model Management, a top modeling agency absorbed her, took her in its stable, and managed her career. This is about the time she made the move from Illinois to New York City.

Three years later, Cindy found a new and everlasting love in Rande Gerber with whom she remains married to this day. They have two kids named Presley Walker and Kaia Jordan. In politics, Cindy was a known supporter of Barack Obama when he run for presidency in 2008 but has recently switched gears and is said to be supporting Mitt Romey.
