Lisa Kennedy

Known for her trademark horn-rimmed glasses, Lisa Kennedy is an American political satirist who first broke into the airwaves in 1991–and into public awareness as radio station KROQ’s “The Virgin Kennedy.” While Lisa is more well known as the TV game show host in “Friend or Foe,” many are not aware of the pink colored elephant Republican mascot tattooed on her left upper thigh, which is indicative of her Republican Party membership.

Born as Lisa Kennedy Montgomery on 8 September 1972 in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was raised in Lake Oswego, Oregon and graduated in 2005 with a degree in philosophy from the University of California Los Angeles.

Dropping her Montgomery surname and adopting the stage name Lisa Kennedy, she spent four years beginning in 1992 as host of MTV’s “Alternative Nation” introducing videos and interviewing big name performers such as Tom Cruise, Jodie Foster, Bill Murray, Red Hot Chili Peppers and many others. Later, she went on to host the TV special, “Who Wants to Be Governor of California” and the popular game show “Friend or Foe” which ran for two and a half seasons.

In 1996, Lisa Kennedy spoke at the Republican National Convention and served as CBS Sports correspondent covering snow boarding at the 1998 Winter Olympics held in Nagano, Japan. The following year, she finally got her own radio show over KQBZ-FM in Seattle, which was a mix of news, comedy and local issues. During the same year, she authored “Hey Ladies: Tales and Tips for Curious Girls.” Published by Random House, her book offered advice to teen-aged girls based on her own personal experiences. Leaving Seattle the following year, Lisa co-hosted a ComedyWorld Radio Network morning talk show with Ahmet Zappa which also consisted of comedy, news and local issues.

In 2005, Lisa Kennedy appeared as panelist on MSNBC’s “Scarborough Country” and VH1’s “Best Week Ever.” Later that same year, she became host of the “Reality Remix” of Fox Reality. Two years later, she worked as guest host on talk radio station KFI in Los Angeles and was finally hired by the station for a regular Suinday afternoon show. During the first quarter of 2008, Lisa co-hosted the “Kennedy & Suits Show” until her final broadcast on the last quarter of the succeeding year. The spunky broadcaster can now be heard as host of “Music in the Mornings” over station KYSR. A Republican with Libertarian leanings, Lisa Kennedy supports gay marriage.
