Rachel Hunter

Rachel Hunter is a reality TV show host, actress and model. She was born on September 9, 1969 in Glenfield, Auckland, New Zealand. She is a naturalized American citizen. She has two children, Liam born in 1995 and Renee in 1994.

Charity Works of Rachel Hunter

Hunter supports several charitable organizations including the Born Free Foundation, Hillsides and Sorylines Trust. The Storylines Trust’s purpose is to inform the public why literature and reading for children is very important. Their other goals include improving access to high end literature. Storylines Trust also provides support for children’s literature illustrators and writers.

The Hillsides organization aims to provide a safe environment for kids in Southern California. They are also pushing for the rights of children. The Born Free Foundation is an international wildlife charity group. Their goal is to end the suffering of wildlife. The Born Free Foundation is also taking steps to shelter animals in the wild. Hunter became involved with the Born Free Foundation in 2000.

After learning what they were fighting for, she quickly went to Africa. Since then she has been consistently taking steps to increase public awareness for the plight of animals. She is also involved in animal fundraising.

When Hunter came to the Kahuzi Biega National Park, she and her group were denied access because it was controlled by the Congo rebel forces. Instead she had to travel ten hours to reach the Virunga Mountains. Since that time, Hunter has made several return trips to Africa including the Limbe Wildlife Centre in Cameroon. The charitable works of Rachel Hunter have helped increase public awareness on these issues.

In 2005, Hunter was a guest of Lingo. Together with Trista Rehn, they donated their $US 30,000 to charity. She also established the Rachel Hunter Lowland Gorilla Fund. She is using this fund to raise money for primates and protecting the environment.

Hunter is a Republican and supports their stands on many issues. These include more government control and cutting back on government spending. Republicans also favor limitation of abortion. They also tend to favor greater military spending. Republicans are generally more conservative on most social and political issues.

Early Life

Hunter’s parents divorced when she was still young. She was enamored with dancing and wanted to take up ballet. However, her hopes were curtailed when she became afflicted with a rare disease of the blood. When Hunter turned 17, she began modeling. She traveled to America and signed a contract New York’s Ford Models agency. She eventually became Cover Girl’s spokesperson. This happened after she got their cosmetics contract.

While Hunter was becoming a successful model, Hunter popularity soared when she posed for Sports Illustrated in 1989. Since that time she has appeared in other magazines such as Cosmopolitan. Hunter also became the model for the Scottish lingerie house Ultimo. Aside from Ford, Hunter has contracts with Chadwick Models in Sydney, Australia and Select Model Management in London.

TV and Film Career

Hunter has made several appearances on TV, film and video. She is in the music video of the 2003 song “Stacy’s Mom” by Fountains of Wayne. She was also in the 2006 film The Benchwarmers and Two Shades of Blue. Hunter played a cook in the movie La Cucina. She has been in numerous independent films including A Walk in the Park.

Hunter has also appeared on TV including The Drew Carey Show where she appeared as herself. She has also been in the sci-fi TV movie Swamp Volcano. In 2004, Hunter appeared in The Vicar of Dibley as herself.

Hunter has also been on reality TV. Hunter has been on The Real Gilligan’s Island and the popular TV show Dancing with the Stars. She has also taken part in NBC’s Celebrity Circus and the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. In the reality show Are You Hot? At ABC, she was a judge. She has also been on the Celebrity Paranormal Project of VH1.

She was also on Phenomenon, a reality show on NBC. Hunter has also been on the Discovery Channel documentary called “Bra Wars”. She has also been part of the Make Me a Supermodel in 2005. Hunter was also the host of Style Me with Rachel Hunter for the U.S. cable TV channel WE. Aside from Hunter, the other judges were Milica Kastner and Phillip Bloch. Those who won were given the chance to style her at the People’s Choice Awards. In addition she has been in the film A Fonder Heart.

Rachel Hunter has taken up several acting lessons to help with her film career. She is in the movie Madoff: Made Off with America which is in post production. She was also in the 2011 TV movie Piranhaconda, The Brazen Bull and the TV series Gravity. Aside from being an actress, she is also a producer.
